Health Insurance

International Health Insurance
All FSU exchange students must purchase international health insurance for the entire period of their exchange program. Students have two options for meeting this requirement:
  1. Purchase the FSU student health insurance plan, which includes international health insurance coverage.
  2. Purchase approved the FSU international health insurance plan through CISI.
International health insurance coverage in both plans include the following:
  • International medical coverage @ $250,000
  • Emergency medical evacuation @ $100,000
  • Repatriation of mortal remains @ $100,000
To purchase: Students can purchase the FSU health insurance plan through FSU’s University Health Services. Students who want to purchase the CISI plan will access the link to purchase CISI coverage in the post-acceptance phase of their FSU Global Exchange application.

Additional Information:
  • Other international insurance plans are not accepted in place of either of the two approved plans listed above.
  • Additional insurance may be required by the host country as a condition of attending as an international student.
  • When participating in an exchange, students also must continue to meet Florida State University health insurance requirements for on-campus students.
